Homeschool Programs

This is not a weekly nature craft class or occasional animal presentation. Students become working young biologists through repeated experiences with live animals, field investigations, laboratory activities, mapping, observation, data collection, and conservation science.
Our homeschool programs provide a rich and thorough life science education. Through hands-on encounters with our live animals, digital media (primarily maps, data charts, photographs, and short video clips), art projects, literature, games, science labs, outdoor exploration, and more, we learn biology in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way.
Homeschool programs are intentionally kept small (6–10 students) to support meaningful relationships, thoughtful discussion, and extended, hands-on animal encounters, and to model responsible, low-impact field science.

Students must meet the age requirements by October 1, 2026.

Meet Your Instructors
Our homeschool programs combine thoughtful curriculum design with decades of professional biology experience. Becca leads the development of our age-appropriate, hands-on curriculum, while Cameron contributes ideas and reviews lessons for scientific accuracy and real-world relevance. Both teach different age groups throughout the program, bringing their own strengths and experience to the classroom. Read below to learn more about them!

Hatchlings
Ages 4-5
Hatchlings is our early childhood life science program for curious 4–5 year olds. Through hands-on animal encounters, exploration, movement, stories, and play, children build confidence, curiosity, and a joyful connection to the natural world. Along the way, early skills like language, counting, patterns, and scientific observation naturally emerge through meaningful, real-world experiences.
Hatchlings is open to just 6 children to allow for gentle pacing, extra support, and safe, meaningful animal interactions for our youngest scientists.
