Birthday Parties

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. We ask that you bring your own utensils, plates, and napkins as we do not provide these items. Please note, we do not have a water fountain. We recommend having your guests bring water bottles and that you bring water or drinks for guests. We have large tables (two tables at 30” x 60” each - seats 12 children comfortably) for you to have snacks and cake at your party. We will begin putting away animals, washing hands, and sitting down for cake approximately 30 minutes before your parties ends. We do not have refrigerators/freezers available for food.

Decorations are allowed. Guests will commonly bring tablecloths and table decorations. Balloons, glitter, hanging decorations, pinatas, confetti, projectile toys, silly string, and similar items are not permitted in the party space. Bringing them may result in a $75 damages/cleaning fee.

Anyone turning 5 years old or older is welcome to celebrate their birthday at My Nature Lab. Guests of all ages are welcome. Birthday parties for children under 5 years old will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email info@mynaturelab.org to inquire about parties for children under 5 years old.

We cannot allow you into the party room early or let your group stay later than the start and end of your 105 minute time slot. Please do not arrive before your scheduled 1 hour and 45 minute timeslot so as to give our staff time to prepare the room for your party. Due to other scheduled activities, we are unable to allow you early access. We recommend inviting your guests 5-10 minutes into your timeslot if you would like private time to setup. Tear down must be completed by the end of your timeslot. Your party host will be happy to support clean up.

Open Lab, My Nature Lab's public hours, takes place in My Nature Lab's Main Lab space and centers around our Learning Circle, where our educators hold nonstop lessons focused on the live reptiles and amphibians that live at the Lab. Adding admission to Open Lab gives you even more hands-on time with animals. Learn more on our Visit Open Lab page. Open Lab is not a private experience, so educators cannot take requests as many groups may be present. Our Open Lab space is also home to the majority of our animals, so visitors may take a break from the Learning Circle to explore the Lab and take a look at animals in their enclosures. Payment for discounted Open Lab admission ($10/person for party attendees) will be taken on the day of the party.

Birthday parties are available for anyone turning 5 or older. Guests of all ages are welcome. We recommend limiting the number of very young guests, as our program is not designed for people under 5 years old. Birthday parties for children under 5 years old will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email info@mynaturelab.org to inquire about parties for children under 5 years old.

Please fill out our party booking request form. Payment in full is required to confirm your party and reserve your time slot. After submitting your party request, our staff will be in touch with you to complete the booking process.

Parties must be paid for in full to confirm your party’s date and time. Cancellations with at least 30 days’ notice will be given a full refund, minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations between 30-15 days’ notice will receive a 75% refund, cancellations between 15-5 days’ notice will receive a 50% refund, and cancellations with less than 5 days’ notice will receive no refund. If anyone in your party is diagnosed with COVID-19 or has any symptoms as defined within current Boulder County Public Health guidelines, then My Nature Lab will move your party to an open party slot of your choosing at no cost or you will be given a refund, minus a $50 room deposit charge. If My Nature Lab must cancel your party for any reason, your party will be moved to an open party slot of your choice at no cost to you. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Standard parties at My Nature Lab are limited to 15 people total (including children, adults, the birthday person, and the birthday family). Large parties at My Nature Lab are limited to 40 people total (including children, adults, the birthday person, and the birthday family). We have found that these limits provide the best experience for guests and for the live animals. My Nature Lab has a large parking lot directly in front of our facility. If this lot is full, parking is available next door near Mountain High Appliance and Gravity Brewing. One space in front of My Nature Lab is designated as handicapped parking.
